Placements for unaccompanied minors

There are a number of unaccompanied children arriving in the UK seeking asylum. Their situation is often troubled, having left their homes and arriving in a place where the language and customs are strange to them.

Our aim is to provide the best possible care and support for these young people, so that their future will not be dictated by their past. At the same time, we must be mindful of their cultural and religious background.

Families for Children has built strong links with a broad range of local communities, to help the young people develop their own sense of who they are, and how they can acknowledge their heritage without feeling isolated from the rest of society. We also have access to interpreters to help these children communicate.
