Families for Children has a support network in place to help you, especially when there are times that you struggle or feel alone.

Each child has a social worker who will support you, your own children and the child(ren) you look after. They will make sure you receive all the training you need, and help you achieve the new fostering standards. You will be visited regularly, both formally and informally.

Under certain circumstances we can also arrange temporary care for your fostered child in another home should you need a break. Respite care should be planned and we will help you to decide where your child should stay for a short while to give you a rest.

In the school holidays some activities are arranged for children who find it difficult to socialise with other children in mainstream activities. Your local centre will advise you of what is planned.

We offer a competitive financial package which is the same for all carers no matter what your experience is and introductory bonuses and loyalty payments for carers who have fostered with us for some time, along with a pension scheme.

We enjoy offering social activities and support groups for carers throughout the year at various venues. We encourage carers and staff to participate as fully as they can.
