Southways School

Southways School is a DCSF (Department for Children, Schools and Families) registered educational provision which Families for Children are proud to offer. The school provides a safe and nurturing environment for up to six children, aged seven to eleven (Key Stage Two) and follows the National Curriculum. A full-time qualified teacher and a teaching assistant personalise lessons to suit children’s needs, taking into account their life experiences, individual ability and specific/special educational needs.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection (April 2008) highly commends a number of areas: “pupils are exceptionally well cared for and the welfare, health and safety of pupils is outstanding.” They also highlight that the classroom accommodation, safeguarding mechanisms and progress made by pupils is outstanding. The report reaffirms everything we are trying to achieve with our children. We strive to make the school a place where children can enjoy education, have positive experiences and achieve their full potential. We understand that working together with foster carers, parents, staff, local authorities, social workers and other professionals is vital if we are to help children make progress in every area of their lives.
