Congratulations and well done to everyone who achieved the exam results they wanted. Please make sure that your Families for Children Social Worker has been given the results so that they can pass them on to me. Many thanks.
Once more a new academic year has begun! Personal Education Plans are a really useful tool to help plan and work out how young people will achieve their educational aims so check that the children you look after have an up-to-date one in place and that you have a copy.
EDUCATION TRAINING: Have you had yours yet? I look forward to meeting you at these sessions.
There are many excellent resources out there to help support education, particularly on the web. Here are some you may find useful:
Parentscentre.gov.uk - Lots of good information. Use the Learning Journeys section to find out about the curriculum for each Key Stage. Click on Education and Learning for a range of information.
bbc.co.uk/learning - Click on bitesize for resources, activities and games for each Key Stage.
Channel4learning.com - online education resources, games and activities for primary and secondary schools.
I hope the return to school has gone well and wish everyone a successful 2009-2010 academic year.
Best Wishes
